Traditional IRA:

The traditional IRA is an account that allows you to make a tax-deductible contribution and earnings grow tax deferred until they are withdrawn.

Roth IRA:

The Roth IRA allows you to make nondeductible contributions and earnings grow tax free. Contributions and earnings are distributed income tax and penalty free after 5 years, and when taken as a qualified distribution.
